The Major Sixth Chord has a Major quality which includes a Major Third interval that produces a generally happy sound. Major Sixth Chord contains the notes C, E, G, A. The Major Sixth Chord is an Added type chord which means it includes a Triad (the Root C, the Third E, and the Fifth G) and one or more additional notes, in this case the Sixth A.
