F Harmonic Minor Scale
The F Harmonic Minor Scale has a minor quality due to its minor Third A♭. The Harmonic Minor Scale, like F Harmonic Minor, is based on the F Natural Minor Scale but with a raised (by a semitone) Seventh, E in this case. This improves tonal harmony by changing the V chord to be a Dominant C Major Chord due to the now Major Third E of that chord. The F Harmonic Minor Scale is classified as a heptatonic scale as it has seven notes, F, G, A♭, B♭, C, D♭, E.
