The A Major Ninth Chord has a Major quality which includes a Major Third interval that produces a generally happy sound. A Major Ninth Chord contains the notes A, C♯, E, G♯, B. The A Major Ninth Chord is an Extended type chord which means it includes a Triad (the Root A, the Third C♯, and the Fifth E), the Seventh G♯, and also includes the Ninth (Second) B from the octave above.
